This presentation is designed to illuminate the context of IPV-Coercive Control including its structure, dynamics and patterns on the Coercive Control Spectrum. Participants will learn how to CC context, the processes and its effects on the adult and child victim. Through forensic case examples from Dr. Lischick (2009) and the newly burgeoning research on coercive control, participants will learn about the history and utility adapting this model to apply to their clients experiencing partner abuse. Participants will learn recognize coercive control elements, dynamics, spatial dimensions and consequences. Participants will learn about the extension of coercive control to children and how to utilize the Ecological Nested Model to identify risk and resiliency factors and apply those factors to safety planning. Participants will have an opportunity to apply the CC Model to case Assessments and design trauma-informed interventions.
